About this site — a labour of love
Hello! Great to have you here. Behind this site is no corporation and no agency — just one person from southern Germany who one day wondered: why is it so complicated to find out where to take your waste?
The answers I found back then were outdated lists, incomplete maps and pages that were barely usable on a phone. So I started building — evenings and weekends, with plenty of attention to detail. The result is the site you are on right now: Germany's most comprehensive search for recycling centers, containers and drop-off points.
My motivation is simple: disposing of things properly should be as easy as ordering pizza. Every battery that stays out of household waste and every bottle that makes it into the container is a small win for all of us.
Always up to date — maintained daily
The data on this site is updated daily (usually in the evening): opening hours and accepted materials are continuously checked against official operator information, new locations are added, duplicates and errors removed. And if you still spot something — every location page has a "Report an error" button. Every report gets read and processed, promised.
What makes this site special
- Truly ALL drop-off points: recycling centers, collection points and over 50,000 containers for glass and clothes — Germany's most comprehensive search
- Meaningful presentation: opening hours with "open now", accepted materials at a glance, distance from your location
- Results in 5 seconds — type your postcode, done
- Free and ad-free — no tracking, no cookies, no data collection (not even in the web app)
- Installable as a web app — an icon on your home screen, no app store needed
- At home on every device: phone, tablet, desktop
- In eight languages — for everyone who lives here or is visiting (more to come)
- Clear guides on waste sorting and disposal, also multilingual
- Built on open data: OpenStreetMap, refined with official operator information
💚 Like this site?
This site stays free — for everyone, forever. I cover the server, domain and countless hours of data work privately, and I do it gladly. If you would still like to support the project: a small donation makes my day. It goes straight into server costs and even better data. Completely optional — telling your friends about the site helps just as much!
